| On December 4th (Monday), from 4:30 pm to 5:40 pm, the University of the Ryukyus will host the 17th Ryudai Future Forum × Diversity Promotion Top Seminar online, featuring Dr. Karin Markides, President and CEO of the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. During the seminar, Dr. Markides will share her experiences as a scientist, professor, and university leader, and the “role of universities in the 21st century” as a place to convene various stakeholders and nurture future leaders. Additionally, considering the gender gap as a significant obstacle to achieving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), she will elaborate on the essential concept of “DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion)” for realizing a more sustainable society. Participation is free, and simultaneous interpretation in Japanese and English will be provided. Pre-registration is required.
